Chain Retrieval Tool

Let’s say for example that you forgot to tighten the set screws on your chain, and now your chain has come loose from the shaft and is inside the drain pipe. Have you lost your chain? How will you get it out?  This inexpensive solution to retrieving a lost chain in a pipe is not as sophisticated as “grabber” equipment, but it should do the job just the same.

Simply attach the chain retrieval tool to the end of your shaft with set screws, send your shaft down to the lost chain. Turn your drill slowly so that the spiral hooks onto the chain and winds it inward. Simple and easy. The spiral design acts like a coil spring because it is thicker on one side of the spiral than the other side. This gives it the added advantage of allowing you to use it as a retrieval tool for all kinds of obstructions in a pipe.
